Dr Ian Katz graduated with First Class Honours from The University of Cape Town Medical School in 1987.

After 3 years research in Cape Town and Philadelpha he moved to Australia in 1991. His specialization in Pathology, with joint
qualifications in Histopathology and Chemical Pathology, was obtained in 1997 after 5 years training, predominantly at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. He obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists for Australasia in 1997.

Dr Ian Katz established this pathology practice in July 2002. For the last 8 years he has focused virtually exclusively on the clinical and pathological diagnosis and management of skin cancer. Because of this extensive experience, Dr Katz is happy to consult with skin cancer patients as well as perform biopsies and excisions himself. In this way the very best dermatopathological correlation of patients and results is ensured.

Ian is an active member of the Skin Cancer Society of Australia. He loves to play squash, golf and windsurf.
