FEES AND CHARGES
Southern Sun Skin Cancer Clinics are private billing practices.
A standard consultation ranges between $60 and $70.
A Saturday consultation is $85.
Medicare rebate is appoximately $34.30. This may vary. Please speak with the receptionist upon booking your appointment.
Any treatments will be at an additional charge. This will be discussed with your doctor during the consultation.
Our Specialist Dermatopathologist Dr Ian Katz charges $130 for a consultation. Approximately $63 can be reclaimed from medicare if a valid referral is used.
Pensioner, concession and senior health care card holders are bulk billed.
Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, eftpos or credit card.
Medicare Safety Net
Medicare Safety Net provides additional assistance with high out-of-pocket costs for out-of-hospital medical services provided by doctors. This financial assistance is payable in addition to the benefit set in the Medicare Benefit Schedule Services list.
When you pay your doctor in full and claim your rebate through Medicare:
- Medicare Australia will automatically keep a record of your medical expenses for you.
- When you are nearing your threshold, they will write to you to let you know.
- Once you reach the threshold, any further non-hospital claims you make for that calendar year may attract a higher benefit.
- It is important that you provide Medicare with all of your receipts and also ensure they have your correct details.

Copies of Patient Results and Notes
We are happy to provide copies of all patient notes and results to a patient. Fees apply.
