How long does it take? Each appointment lasts 5 to 10 minutes.

Who performs the skin examination and is it invasive? The examination is 100% safe and not invasive. The individual is required to undress to undergarments for a full body visual check performed by a general practitioner.

What happens if the doctor detects a mole or lesion of concern? Our team will contact the patient to ensure follow up treatment occurs. Patients who may need to see a skin cancer doctor for a concerning lesion will be fast tracked for an appointment at a Southern Sun Skin Cancer Clinic that best suits the individual.

Do you take pictures of unusual spots? We have a portable digital imaging system called Photomax Plus which takes and records digital images of any unusual or irregular spots. Use of this system will incur an extra charge.

How accurate and reliable is this process? Our doctors are general practitioners with extensive experience in skin cancer medicine. This experience coupled with our photomax mole imaging system and our proficient pathology laboratory ensures that we offer the most advanced, thorough and accurate skin cancer solutions available.

Do you excise on the spot? Those patients who require further treatment will be fast-tracked to an appointment at a Southern Sun Skin Cancer Clinic of their preference.

I do not want my employer to know my results, is your service confidential? Yes the patient’s medical record and examination results are strictly confidential.

What is required on the day? We will set up on your premises. A private room with good lighting, a curtain or screen for patients to disrobe behind, access to power and a waiting area nearby are needed. We examine approximately 6 patients per hour. It will be up to your company to organise the schedule of patients.
