Dr Andrew Packer
Dr Andrew Packer earned his medical degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada in 1978.
He trained at Queen's University and its affiliated teaching hospitals (Kingston, On
tario, Canada) in General Pathology from 1978 to 1983. He earned the Diploma of the American Board of Pathology (Anatomic and Clinical Pathology) in 1982 and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (General Pathology) in 1983.
After 11+ years in practice in British Columbia, Andrew shifted to New Zealand and earned the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australisia in 1996. He worked in hospital and community laboratory practices in Wanganui, Rotorua and Nelson. Between 2002 and 2006 he combined pathology practice and university studies and earned a BSc in Mathematics from Massey University. Since 2007 he has based himself in New Zealand in the Marlborough Sounds and now works as a locum tenens pathologist in multiple centres in New Zealand and at Southern Sun Pathology in Hornsby.
When not at his microscope he may be found on his kayak, or operating his mini-loader-excavator -- wearing a broad-brimmed hat and sunscreen of course.
